Bill Huizenga (R-MI), passed a bill to improve investment research for small stock issuers, including emerging growth companies and companies considering initial public offerings. The Improving Investment Research for Small and Emerging Issuers Act (H.R. 2919) passed the House by a voice vote. This is a pro-investor, pro-small company measure. It eases a problem for small issuers who have had difficulties getting market research into their companies, complicating access to investment firm capital, said McAdams. This is a bipartisan, commonsense measure and I thank Rep. Huizenga for his leadership on this issue. McAdams said the bill requires the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to report on such topics as the availability of research and potential conflicts of interest relating to its production and distribution. The SEC would be required to make recommendations for increasing small-issuer investment research. The legislation helps offset a disadvantage to individual investors who may have limited research capabilities on their own. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
