Lucy McBath (GA-07) announced that The Georgia Wellness Group, Inc. DBA Obria Medical Clinics is a recipient of a $445,500 award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The funding will be used to expand Obria Medical Clinics’ evidence-based programs focused on sexual risk avoidance education. Funding for this application was requested by McBath in a letter of support to the Administration for Children and Families in June. “Our community organizations play an important role in implementing Georgia’s strategy to support the health of our families and decrease the teen birth rate,” McBath said. “This investment in Obria Medical Clinics’ work will enable them to extend their reach to fill in the gaps and reach young people who need help the most.
