The community projects were requested by individual Democratic and Republican members of the Minnesota Congressional delegation. "The Appropriations Committee is moving these critical bills forward to fund the federal government and at the same time, delivering for Minnesotans by investing in the priority needs of communities in districts represented by both Democrats and Republicans," McCollum said. As the Dean of the Minnesota delegation and Minnesota's only member of the House Appropriations Committee, McCollum voted to approve all 12 fiscal year 2022 appropriations bills. Congressionally-directed projects were included in the appropriations bills for the first time since 2010. All 10 requests from Rep. McCollum's office were included in the FY 2022 appropriations bills that have now been approved by the full Appropriations Committee, totaling $12 million to benefit Minnesota's Fourth District.
