Wicker," McCollum said. "I greatly value the work of The Wilson Center to embody a ‘finer spirit of hope and achievement' and put it into action. Throughout my career in Congress, I have strived to reach across the aisle to work together to address global health challenges and ensure the power of American leadership drives positive change to improve people's lives. From securing a 10 percent set-aside for orphans and vulnerable children in the original President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) authorization, to my current work to reauthorize the Feed the Future program in response to global food insecurity, I'm proud that these significant achievements align with Woodrow Wilson's philosophy: that as public servants, we are here to enrich the world. I'm grateful for this recognition and look forward to continuing to work together with the Wilson Center and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to effect change." Background: The Woodrow Wilson Awards are given to those individuals whose actions and accomplishments, either in their careers or through service, reflect President Woodrow Wilson's belief that "there is no higher religion than human service. To work for the common good is the greatest creed." Congresswoman McCollum's remarks can be viewed here. A written copy of the remarks is available here. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T20:17:01Z
