The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) awarded VSU with this competitive grant to support outreach, training, and technical assistance projects for socially disadvantaged and veteran beginning farmers and ranchers in Virginia. “Virginia State University is helping our local farmers and ranchers by providing them with the skills and tools needed to operate a stellar farm as a business,” said Congressman Donald McEachin. “I am happy to see funds support a crucial program in our community.
