Congressman Morgan McGarvey, who recently backed articles of impeachment against DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, took to the House floor to oppose the bill. When Republicans gave ICE a blank check last year, ICE used it to kill American citizens. And now ICE wants two more weeks of money – no strings attached – to keep their campaign of terror running smoothly. Two weeks? Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti were murdered just two weeks apart. During those two weeks, five-year-old Liam Ramos was used as bait and detained. And three more people died in ICE custody during those same two weeks. I don’t want to be back at this podium in two weeks with a longer list of names, Mr. Speaker. I urge my colleagues to consider what we’re wagering at this point. Are we going to give ICE two more weeks to invade U.S. cities in exchange for a pinky promise that we’ll talk about reforms? Forgive me if I don’t believe this President is negotiating in good faith.
