McGarvey Delivers Powerful Speech: “We Are in a Constitutional Crisis” 2025-02-06 2025 2025-02 Democrat House KY Morgan McGarvey M001220 mcgarvey.house.gov mcgarvey https://mcgarvey.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 6, 2025) – Today, Congressman Morgan McGarvey (KY-03) delivered a powerful speech on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to raise the alarm on Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s unprecedented assault on our Constitution, and call on his Republican colleagues to stand up. CLICK HERE TO WATCH OR DOWNLOAD THE VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Mr. Speaker, We are in a Constitutional crisis. Our founding fathers created three, co-equal branches of government to ensure that no one man can be king. But here we are. We have a president who is willing to tear up our Constitution in order to seize more power for himself. Last week, Donald Trump empowered Elon Musk to “delete” USAID. Now, they are trying to eliminate the Department of Education and go after Medicaid. What’s next, Social Security? Let’s be clear: it is unconstitutional for any president to abolish any federal agency created and funded by Congress. So my question to the body is – where are my Republican colleagues? You all would not be okay if this were Kamala Harris or Joe Biden – and the difference is, neither would I. So stand with me. We all must stand up to do something to stop it. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T23:42:11Z
