A transcript of Congressman McGarvey’s remarks is below, and a video of the remarks can be found here: “I rise today because, on March 1, a 4-car crash on the Clark Memorial Bridge left a semi-truck dangling dangerously over the Ohio River with the driver still inside. “Police officers, Coast Guard members, and firefighters immediately rushed into action to save the driver from plummeting some 100 feet into the river below. “No firefighter acts alone. They train as a team. They work as a team. And it took all of Rescue Company Two working together to save this semi driver. But ultimately firefighter Bryce Carden was the fearless first responder who was lowered off the bridge from the back of a firetruck to perform the daring rescue that brought the truck’s driver back to safety. “Bryce Carden is a Louisvillian through and through — he grew up in Valley Station, went to Butler High School, and still lives in Louisville with his wife, Caitlynn, and 17-month-old daughter. “And that truck driver is alive today because of Bryce’s selfless actions. “To Bryce and your brothers and sisters in the Louisville Fire Department — we thank you for your bravery and dedicated service.” ### | 1 | 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z | 2026-04-07T20:32:04Z |
