This was an attack on American democracy. Plain and simple. Protecting our elections from foreign interference is vital to our national security and should be supported by both Republicans and Democrats alike. In addition to praising Russian President Vladimir Putin on the campaign trail, President-elect Trump openly encouraged Russian hackers to target his political opponent. Given the reluctance of our next president to stand up to Russia, there is even greater urgency for a full investigation of the Russian hacking, before President Obama leaves office next month.
