David B. McKinley, P.E., and his colleagues in the Energy and Commerce Committee conducted a hearing on the many problems surrounding the rollout of the Obamacare website and enrollment of the Affordable Care Act. Lead contractors responsible for building the website appeared before the Committee. Top administration officials and contractors appeared before this committee on September 10th, looked us in the eye, and assured us repeatedly that everything was on track,' added McKinley. But after the website was launched and numerous problems surfaced, the finger pointing began and no one is taking responsibility. The American people deserve an apology for the disastrous rollout that has wasted taxpayer dollars. The Obama Administration spent $267 million to develop the website system and $500 million on the website, itself. Since it's rollout on October 1st, we have seen many problems, crashes, glitches, and systems failures on the Obamacare website, said Rep. McKinley. This Administration has failed the American people by having a lack of accountability and remorse after the disastrous rollout of healthcare.gov. Today was about getting answers by talking to the very people responsible for creating and implementing it.
