This five-year plan will give West Virginia and our local communities the certainty they need to make planning decisions. The Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act was negotiated between the House and Senate and is the first long-term transportation bill since the Bush Administration. The $300 billion plan makes important reforms to streamline permitting, gives states and communities more flexibility, and will provide West Virginia with more funding than it has received in the past. This bill pays special attention to rural infrastructure, said McKinley. It will give us the resources West Virginia desperately needs for important projects like Corridor H. Congress has been talking about a long-term highway bill for years, and now we're finally doing it, said McKinley.
