David B. McKinley, P.E. (R-W.Va.) joined his House Colleagues to pass a continuing resolution (CR) that will keep the government running and protect American families and businesses from Obamacare. Shutting down the government is not in the best interest of our economy, said Rep. McKinley. That's why the House voted to keep the government open and stop this unworkable health care law. We have listened to the majority of the American people who oppose Obamacare and believe it's not ready for implementation. Unfortunately President Obama and Harry Reid aren't listening to reason and instead are digging in their heels. The health care law is simply not ready, as evidenced by the number of delays, waivers, glitches and problems with its implementation, added Rep. McKinley. The President has already delayed Obamacare for big businesses; therefore, it's only fair he also delays it for families and individuals. The bill approved by the House funds the government through December 15th of this year, delays Obamacare for one year, and repeals the medical device tax. The House also passed legislation to ensure the troops get paid in the event of a government shutdown. The House has done its part to prevent a government shutdown and stop Obamacare from hurting American families and small businesses, said Rep. McKinley.
