Since the House has already done just that, we are asking that President Obama will fulfill his promise to work with Republicans to fix Obamacare, said Rep. McKinley. Can we expect the President to follow through and work with Republicans and fix Obamacare? No more rhetoric but action is warranted. A number of bills has been passed over to the Senate to do just what the President requested, added McKinley. So to be truly honest with the American people, the President should push the Democratic-controlled Senate to move measures already passed by the House. In so doing, that might encourage Congress from taking endless votes to defund or repeal Obamacare and avoid a government shutdown, said McKinley. The following bills are examples of what passed the House and await action by the Senate: Repeal Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) Repeal the $30 billion medical device tax Eliminate Obamacare slush funds Repeal limitations on reimbursement of the over-the-counter medications from tax-advantaged accounts for health care Delay the implementation of the Obamacare employer mandate for one-year Delay the implementation of the Obamacare individual mandate for one-year Allow individuals to recoup up to $500 of unused funds remaining in their flexible spending account (FSA) after the end of the plan year No more empty talk about working with the House; just do it, added McKinley. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
