David B. McKinley, P.E. (R-W.Va.), spoke on the House floor on upcoming budget negotiations after he voted to end the government shutdown and temporarily increase the debt limit. The President has repeatedly said he is willing to negotiate on all economic issues after Congress ended the shutdown and raised the debt limit, said McKinley. It's time for these negotiations to begin. Rep. McKinley called on negotiations to include tax and regulatory process reforms, addressing our growing debt, and making changes to Obamacare. Congress has held up its end of the bargain and I hope the President does the same, added McKinley. We need to take on our most serious problems nowa weak economy, a growing national debt and a health care law that isn't working.
