Rep. Mark Meadows’ (R-NC) office delivered the district Christmas tree to Secretary Sonny Perdue at the USDA on Thursday morning. The Christmas tree—grown on Buck’s Tree Farm in Mitchell County, owned by constituent Rodney Buchanan—will be displayed at the agency throughout this Christmas season. “What an honor for one of our district’s very own products to be displayed at the USDA this Christmas,” Rep. Meadows said. “When you mention some of the best farmers in the country, you have to start with Western North Carolinians—and Rodney Buchanan is one of them. His efforts with Buck’s Tree Farm in Bakersville have been such an asset to not only Mitchell County, but to my office personally over the years. This is a well-deserved recognition of his top-notch dedication and service, and I’m glad we were able to play even a small role in the delivery. I also want to thank Secretary Sonny Perdue for the outstanding job he’s doing, and for helping make this event happen. This is an exciting moment for our district.
