While I wish Congress had addressed the governments spending deadline far earlier than this Holiday-deadline, passing this bill allows Congress to help President Trump keep his promise to the American people to ensure tax cuts are delivered in time for Christmas. It also provides much-needed funding to Community Health Centers and the Child Health Insurance Program, making sure health care services like routine doctors visits will be taken care of for those most in need. Furthermore, it provides resources to address an unanticipated funding shortfall in the Veterans Choice Program so that veterans may continue to receive the healthcare within their community that they choose.
