"During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, frontline workers across our state mobilized to serve Marylanders and provide critical help to those in need," said the lawmakers. "This FEMA funding will reimburse Baltimore County for their efforts to protect our workforce and ensure a safe reopening of their public schools, keep our students and neighbors safe, and prevent the spread of coronavirus. We will keep working to secure additional resources to support Maryland as we continue fighting this virus and building back better." The award of $9,974,703.35 covers: Purchased and distributed PPE, student/teacher partitions, and radial air purifiers for preparation of safely reopening Baltimore County Public Schools Provided face masks, N95 respiratory masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, cleaning wipes, and partitions for citizens and employees (including first responders, public safety officers and other essential employees that may come in contact with COVID-19 positive individuals) to prevent the spread of the coronavirus Funding is awarded through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and authorized under Section 403 of the Robert T.
