Commenting on his support, Congressman Mike Bishop – Michigan’s Republican member of the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee – issued the following statement: “Bold, transformational tax reform is about giving hardworking Americans of all walks of life the confidence they need to make their dreams a reality. I’ve seen it work in Michigan, and we can absolutely do it at a national level. It’s about letting you keep more of what you earned, and freeing up capital so local job creators can hire more of our neighbors, increase wages, and truly compete at a global level again. “The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act accomplishes this by dramatically simplifying the tax code, with lower rates, making it easier for more Americans to get ahead. I applaud Speaker Ryan, Chairman Brady, our House Ways and Means Committee, and all of my colleagues who are joining me in fighting for families and workers at every income level, including those across Michigan’s Eighth District. “It’s time to unleash our economy’s fullest potential.
