In response, Congressman Mike Bishop issued the following statement: I applaud the strong bipartisan effort of the House to pass this responsible overhaul of Americas broken K-12 system. Instead of pushing the same one-size-fits-all mandates that have failed our children under No Child Left Behind, the Every Student Succeeds Act shifts control back to the local level. It also provides greater school choice and takes the necessary steps to empower parents instead of Washington bureaucrats. We have a moral obligation to create the best education system possible, beginning with the Every Student Succeeds Act. I especially thank Chairman Kline and my Education and the Workforce Committee colleagues for their hard work and encourage the Senate to join us in passing this necessary legislation. To view Rep.
