The bills address issues from employment concerns, to business-related opportunities and support for their families: The Fairness to Veterans for Infrastructure Investment Act of 2015 to improve contracting opportunities for veteran-owned small business concerns (H.R. 1694) To provide funds to the Army Corps of Engineers to hire veterans and members of the Armed Forces to assist the Corps with curation and historic preservation activities (H.R. 3114) The Dignified Interment of Our Veterans Act of 2015 to require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to conduct a study on matters relating to the burial of unclaimed remains of veterans in national cemeteries (H.R. 1338) The Honor America's Guard-Reserve Retirees Act to recognize the service in the reserve components of certain persons by honoring them with status as veterans under law (H.R. 1384) Our veterans have paid a tremendous price to defend our freedom, but leaving the battlefield does not always mean their battles are over, said Rep. Bishop. Theres a great deal of work our nation must do to ensure our heroes get the support they need here at home, and that includes better employment, career and family-oriented initiatives like those passed in the House this week. Our veterans selflessly put their lives on the line to fight for us, and Im proud to continue fighting for them. The bills passed in the House this week continue the Republican-led effort to better serve Americas veterans, in addition to the Hire More Heroes Act of 2015 (H.R. 22), the Clay Hunt Suicide Prevention for American Veterans (Clay Hunt SAV) Act (H.R. 203), the VA Accountability Act of 2015 (H.R. 1994) and others that passed in the House this year. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
