This targeted relief will support Iowa's producers, particularly those growing row crops, who have faced inflation, rising input costs, and ongoing market disruptions caused by unfair trade practices from foreign adversaries. "This is welcome news for Iowa’s farm families," said Dr. Miller-Meeks. "After years of uncertainty and global market instability, this bridge assistance will help keep our producers on solid footing as we continue working to open new markets and strengthen America’s ag economy." The FBA Program will provide proportional support to producers of barley, corn, soybeans, wheat, oats, rice, cotton, and other key crops based on uniform formulas for the 2025 crop year. Payments are expected to begin by February 28, 2026. Farmers should ensure their 2025 acreage reporting is complete and accurate by 5 PM ET on December 19, 2025 to qualify. No crop insurance linkage is required. "I’ll continue fighting for trade fairness, better market access, and policies that give Iowa’s farmers the certainty they deserve," Miller-Meeks added.
