Miller M001205 miller.house.gov miller https://miller.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper June 30, 2023 WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) joined the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce to meet with students who are participating in the Jobs for West Virginia Graduates program. Congresswoman Miller secured Community Project Funding for this project in the Fiscal Year 2023 funding worth $200,000. “Being able to interact with these young students was fruitful. I encouraged them to be bold and not be afraid to take a chance in approaching their future," said Congresswoman Miller. "It is important we invest in West Virginia’s children, so they want to be part of West Virginia’s economic success. Providing the resources our children need brings the opportunity for hard working West Virginians to be successful. We want our kids to stay here and to flourish." Background: Jobs for West Virginia’s Graduates is a non-profit program for high school students facing challenges to their success. The mission is to help students find post-graduation success in employment, post-secondary education, or the military. Jobs for West Virginia’s Graduates uses the proven strategies created by Jobs for America’s Graduates and has a 96% graduation rate and 78% job placement success rate. Jobs for West Virginia Graduates is in its second year of operations. The program is currently active in all Logan and McDowell County high schools and is serving 300 students. In 2023-2024, JWVG will be expanding to three additional counties and will serve an additional 300 students. ### 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-08T00:08:25Z
