Miller M001205 miller.house.gov miller https://miller.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) introduced a resolution that supports strengthening the United States' diplomatic ties with the Kingdom of Bahrain. "It is crucial that we continue to strengthen our relationship with our ally, Bahrain. We have worked together on many key issues including free trade, military security, and counterterrorism to pushback against external threats. I introduced this resolution to push for the expansion of our economic and military ties with Bahrain, which will benefit both of our nations financially, bolster U.S. national security, and help maintain peace and stability in the Middle East," said Congresswoman Miller. Click here for text of the resolution. Background: The United States has had diplomatic ties with Bahrain since 1971. Bahrain was designated by the United States as a major non-North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) ally in 2002. In 2023, the United States and Bahrain signed the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (CSIPA) to enhance cooperation across a wide range of areas including defense, security, technology, trade, and investment. Maintaining a good relationship with Bahrain is critical to keeping peace in the Middle East. The United States and Bahrain signed a Free Trade Agreement in 2004. The two countries' commerce has grown to more than $4 billion in bilateral trade in 2022. ### 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:01:11Z
