I am the oldest of seven children, and to make ends meet, both my parents had to work full-time. My dad built trucks on the line and my mom worked at the Salvation Army. Every dollar in my home made a difference. More money in my parents’ paychecks at the end of each month would have helped my family immensely. Our tax plan does just that. It lets families keep more of their hard-earned dollars. “It also eases the burdens on small businesses and job creators. As Chair McMorris Rodgers and I heard earlier this week at our tax reform round table in Sterling Heights, tax reform would enable businesses to grow, hire more workers, and increase wages. The introduction of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is an important step toward achieving meaningful tax reform to benefit families, businesses, and individuals,” said Representative Mitchell.
