This year's NDAA funds military readiness and modernizes our Armed Forces to confront threats to our national security. Critically, it also provides our troops and their families with a 3.1% pay raise, the largest increase in a decade. The NDAA is of great importance to our national security, and I am proud to fulfill one of our Constitutional duties of providing for the common defense. This NDAA includes provisions that address PFAS contamination, as well as support for capabilities important to Michigan's 10th District, such as A-10s and ground combat vehicles. I am pleased to see bipartisan support for this bill and am proud to do right by military families and continue to build and maintain the strongest military in the world. Several of Congressman Mitchell's priorities were incorporated into the bill, including a prohibition on the use of Russian natural gas at American bases in Europe and reforms to the acquisition workforce. The FY20 NDAA also establishes the United States Space Force as the sixth service branch to advance our capabilities to ensure security and stability in this rapidly developing domain, sustains our investments in nuclear modernization, and supports our allies in Europe and the Middle East, including Israel.
