https://moolenaar.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/farm-bureau-families-pay-17-more-celebrate-fourth-july Farm Bureau: Families Pay 17% More to Celebrate the Fourth of July 2022-06-28 2022 2022-06 Republican House MI John R. Moolenaar M001194 moolenaar.house.gov moolenaar https://moolenaar.house.gov/media-center/press-releases scraper The American Farm Bureau announced that the cost for a Fourth of July cookout has increased 17% over the last year. "Michigan families feel the increased costs of food and gas every day. Inflation is at record levels and President Biden's reckless spending has made the problem worse. Sadly, Michigan residents will have to pay nearly 20 percent more than last year to celebrate the Fourth of July with their friends and family. I will continue to fight for American energy independence, and do everything I can to stop Biden’s spending proposals. When Republicans were in charge, Americans had affordable energy, low inflation, and record low unemployment. We can do it again if President Biden reverses his failed policies,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. Last year, the Biden Administration tried to take credit for saving Americans 16 cents for Fourth of July. Since then inflation has soared to the highest levels in 40 years as the effects of the American Rescue Plan and Biden’s energy policies have led to 8.6% inflation and record high gas prices.
