A shutdown would put our national security at risk and disrupt federal programs Michigan seniors and farmers count on. Unfortunately, 210 Democrat members chose politics over responsible governing and voted against the bill. As the only member from Michigan on the House Appropriations Committee, I will continue my work to ensure our state's priorities are reflected in the appropriations process," said Moolenaar. The House Appropriations Committee has advanced all twelve government funding bills, and the House has passed three. Avoiding shutdown allows the House to move forward with the normal FY26 appropriations process to fund the government.
