The 21st Century Cures Act removes federal red tape that has hampered innovation in medicine. It includes $4.8 billion for the National Institutes of Health, $1.8 billion for Vice President Joe Biden’s cancer research initiative and $1.6 billion for brain disease research including Alzheimer’s. The legislation enjoyed broad bipartisan support in today’s vote. Congressman John Moolenaar (R-Midland) is a co-sponsor of the 21st Century Cures Act and voted for it today.
