"This funding forinfrastructure and emergency serviceswill upgrade roads,keep residents safe, support the economy, and create jobs, said Congressman John Moolenaar. In Congress, I have been an advocate for our rural communities and supported USDA funding that helps them provide essential services for Michigan residents." Local governments applied for the funds throughthe USDA's Community Facilities Direct Loan Program and the Rural Business Development Grants program. A list of the grants and loans being made in the Fourth District is below. Clare County $545,000 loan to purchase and update a new building for Clare County Senior Services. City of Beaverton $1.6 million loan for the construction of a public works and law enforcement building. $425,000 loan to upgrade Glidden Street into an all-season, all-weather, Class A road. City of Gladwin $75,000 grant to complete a streetscape improvement project in the downtown area. City of Harrison $280,000 loan to purchase a new tanker truck for the fire department. $25,000 grant for a project that will improve the downtown streetscape.
