Using funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Michigan Strategic Fundhas awarded the City of Stanton $1.6 million dollars. These funds will be used to replace the city's watermain, as well as the sewage system. The city will also provide $563,191 of its own funding to complete the project. TheVillage of Sheridan received funding from theU.S. Department of Agriculture's Office of Rural Development today. Theloan of nearly $1.3 millionwill be used to improve the community's wastewater treatment facility. "Ihave been working inCongress to make sure the federal government supports the needs of Michigan's rural communities, said Congressman John Moolenaar. This funding will allow for repairs and improvements to critical water infrastructure that will benefit the residents of Stanton and Sheridanfor years to come." As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, Congressman Moolenaar has advocated for programs that support Michigan'srural communities, including those at the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
