USDA approved a $41,000 loan and a $125,000 grantto support the city's sewer pump station replacement project. The department also approved a $999,000 loan and a $726,000 grantfor the replacement of the water main, valves, and service lines on Saginaw Street. The current sewer main has, in the words of USDA, outlived its useful life, and there are increased E.coli levels in Ross Lake. Congressman John Moolenaar is Michigan's only member of the House Appropriations subcommittee with oversight of the Department of Agriculture and the Office of Rural Development. On the panel, he has supported rural development efforts that strengthen small communities in Michigan and across the nation. "Michigan'sruralcommunities don't always have the financial resources of the larger cities and suburbs, so I work hard in Congress to make sure the federal government supports these communities and residents with critical infrastructure needs, said Congressman Moolenaar. This funding will help Beaverton be anevenbetter place for residents and their families." Additional details on grants and loans is available here and here. ### | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
