The idea, conceived by author Sebastian Junger, is simple but powerful: to provide a forum for veterans to share the pride, grief, or quiet appreciation of life that war bestowed upon them and for non-veterans to listen and to learn. At a Vets Town Hall event, veterans of any era who served in any capacity can stand before their community and speak about what it was like to serve their country. Just as importantly, the event gives non-veterans an opportunity to listen and connect. The first Vets Town Hall was held on Veterans Day in 2015 at Abbot Hall, where it will return next Friday. Since then, Congressman Moulton and Junger have built Vets Town Halls into a national movement that they hope will continue to grow. This year’s event will also feature a number of guest speakers who will share their stories and experiences of service with the audience. Congressman Moulotn is also available for interviews about the Vet Town Hall ahead of Friday’s event.
