Mrvan announced the students who have completed summer internships in his Merrillville office. Lilia Brunetti is from Munster and currently studying International Studies and Biotechnology at Indiana University in Bloomington. Brunetti stated, “Because of this internship, I am so much more aware of the problems that everyday Americans face, and I am thankful to have been able to assist the incredible caseworkers. Speaking with the Congressman himself, I have seen how dedicated he is and how much he cares about Northwest Indiana.” Peter Galanos is from Munster and currently studying Business Management at Indiana University in Bloomington. Galanos stated, “The most rewarding part of this experience was being able to sit in on staff meetings and see how the Congressman prepares for his work. There is so much background and information on legislation, and I appreciate how this preparation is used to improve interactions between the Congressman and constituents.” Congressman Mrvan stated, “Thank you to our Merrillville office summer interns Lilia and Peter for their enthusiasm, hard work, and professional support in service to Indiana’s First Congressional District. I wish them both continued success in their studies and future endeavors.” Internships are currently available in the Merrillville office throughout the year.
