In June, Congressman Neguse introduceda private billfor the relief of Ingrid in the U.S. House of Representatives, which called for her deportation proceeding to stop as she prepared her pardon application and sought for a path to permanent lawful residency. I applaud Governor Polis's decision to issue a pardon for Ingrid Encalada LaTorre. Throughout their time in sanctuary, Ingrid and her children have become an integral part of our community in Boulder County, and Ingrid has worked diligently to educate those around her about social security theft and ensure her case is not repeated. This pardon will offer both her and her family a second chance. I am tremendously grateful for the Governor's efforts, and we look forward to working with the Governor's Office as we continue our advocacy for Ingrid at the Federal level. To highlight her case and the need for action at the state and Federal level, in September of this year Congressman Negusevisited Ingrid in sanctuary shortly after the birth of her third child, alongside Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
