https://neguse.house.gov/media/press-releases/congressman-neguse-joins-effort-block-unauthorized-war-venezuela Congressman Neguse Joins Effort to Block Unauthorized War in Venezuela 2025-10-30 2025 2025-10 Democrat House CO Joe Neguse N000191 neguse.house.gov neguse https://neguse.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Neguse joined his House colleagues in support of H.J.Res.126, a War Powers Act resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities that have not been authorized by Congress. Neguse did so following reports that the Trump administration is considering engaging in increased hostilities against Venezuela — including potential land strikes within the country — after conducting a series of unconstitutional strikes in the Caribbean. “President Trump does not have the legal authority to launch military strikes inside Venezuela without a specific authorization by Congress — and I am deeply troubled by reports that suggest this administration believes otherwise,” said Congressman Neguse. “Any unilateral directive to send Americans into war is not only reckless, but illegal and an affront to the House of Representatives powers under Article I of our Constitution. The American people oppose being dragged into yet another endless war, this time in Venezuela, and our constitutional order demands deliberation by the U.S. Congress — period.” Full text of H.J.Res.126 is available HERE. ### 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T19:32:54Z
