Dan Newhouse (WA-04) announced the winners of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for high school students in Washington’s 4th Congressional District. "I’m pleased to extend my congratulations to Jackeline Arellano of A.C. Davis High School on her winning entry, “Dew Drops of Life," said Rep. Newhouse. "I look forward to seeing it displayed in our nation’s capital for visitors from across the country to enjoy. I would also like to recognize and thank all the gifted students from Central Washington who contributed their artwork this year." The winning entry, Dew Drops of Life by Jackeline Arellano, will be hung in the U.S. Capitol alongside winning entries from congressional districts across the country for one year. The winner will be invited to visit Washington, D.C. to attend a reception sponsored by the Congressional Institute, who hosts the annual competition. Rep. Newhouse has invited the second and third place winners, Ivette Valencia Montes (Whispers of the Cascades) of A.C. Davis High School and Ruby Meza-Yanez (The Three Amigos) of A.C Davis High School, to hang their art in the Yakima District Office. The winning entries can be found below, and you can view all of the 2024 submissions here.
