While it’s true that we are recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Biden Administration is cherry-picking when to acknowledge this and failing to replace these crucial lines of defense. At the same time they’re lifting the Title 42 authority—on the grounds that the pandemic is over—they are attempting to ram a billion-dollar relief package through Congress in the name of said pandemic. Today’s irresponsible rollback of the Title 42 public health authority will only exacerbate the influx of migrants across our southern border. Our border agents are overwhelmed and do not have the support they need to secure our border, and this puts every American community at risk while cartels and human traffickers continue to profit. To add insult to injury, not only is the Biden Administration welcoming illegal immigrants into this country with open arms and an open pocketbook, but it is doing so while actively blocking legal, essential workers from entering this country to work on our farms and in our fields.
