https://norman.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=867 Rep. Norman Leads SC Republican Delegation in Letter to AG Wilson Concerning Illegal Immigration 2021-04-15 2021 2021-04 Republican House SC Ralph Norman N000190 norman.house.gov norman https://norman.house.gov/news/documentquery.aspx?DocumentTypeID=27 scraper On Wednesday, Rep. Ralph Norman (SC-5) led the Republican South Carolina delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives in a letter to South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson. This letter concerns President Biden’s policies on border security, the surge in illegal immigration since the President won election, and the effects these two things are having on South Carolina. Specifically, this letter asks AG Wilson for information on whether: DHS, HHS, or any other federal government entity has been involved in funding, planning, or otherwise facilitating the transportation of COVID-19 positive illegal immigrants or asylum seekers from the southern border to South Carolina; his office has been provided with information from any federal entity about the arrival of COVID-19 positive illegal immigrants or asylum seekers to our state; any illegal aliens, regardless of COVID-19 infection, have been relocated to South Carolina; and the State of South Carolina or any of its employees have been requested by the federal government to assist on a formal or voluntary basis with efforts at the southern border. Co-signers of this letter to AG Wilson include: Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC-1), Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC-2), Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC-3), Rep. William Timmons (R-SC-4), and Rep. Tom Rice (R-SC-7). Rep. Norman issued the following statement on Thursday: “I just returned from touring portions of the southern border earlier this week, where I saw firsthand the crisis caused by this new surge of illegal immigrants. It is clear to me that President Biden’s policies play a significant role in this disaster, and my concern is the fallout this will ultimately have on South Carolina. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-06-28T00:48:19Z
