Nunn. “This investment will help the Wayne County Hospital provide critically needed, state-of-the-art dialysis services to their six-county service area. This is exactly the kind of investment the federal government should make – one that does the most good for the most people.” Rep. Nunn secured the $2,011,000 investment through the Community Project Funding process, which allows members to designate funding for critical initiatives. The funding was included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024 which was signed into law on Saturday, March 9, 2024. “We are incredibly grateful for Congressman Nunn’s support in helping us secure this project for a new dialysis unit,” said Daren Relph, CEO of Wayne County Hospital. “This funding represents a significant step towards improving healthcare access in our region, ensuring that patients can receive the critical care they need close to home. We greatly appreciate his dedication in making this a possibility for our community.” Dialysis care is a life-saving service that individuals need access to in order to survive. Currently, Wayne County Hospital has the only dialysis care center in a six-county region but is unable to meet the needs of the patients in the area.
