Ogles' ‘Liberty In Laundry Act’ Passes House 2024-12-10 2024 2024-12 Republican House TN Andrew Ogles O000175 ogles.house.gov ogles https://ogles.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman Andy Ogles (TN-05) achieved another significant legislative milestone today with the passage of his standalone bill, the Liberty in Laundry Act, through the House of Representatives. This legislation bars Biden’s Department of Energy from establishing costly energy conservation standards on clothes washers. This bill is one of his many efforts to dismantle the Biden regime’s excessive and unconstitutional regulations on consumer appliances. “I have spent much of my time in Congress fighting back the federal government’s vast overreach into the lives of hardworking Americans. In a slew of woke, “environmental” nonsense rulemaking attempts by the Biden Administration, the Secretary of Energy issued new standards for clothing washers and dryers in March,” said Congressman Ogles. “In response, I introduced the Liberty in Laundry Act, which will prohibit the Secretary of Energy from imposing “energy conservation standards” for clothes washers that are not economically feasible and economically justified. Americans should be able to do their laundry in peace without the input of Big Brother.” Cosponsors (2): Reps. John Moolenar (MI-02) and Diana Harshbarger (TN-01).
