General Todd Semonite and the commander of the Los Angeles District of the Army Corps, Colonel Aaron Barta. It was the first visit by a commander from the Army Corps to Flagstaff to review the project firsthand. The Army Corps allocated one-million dollars in federal fiscal year 2017 and one-point-three million dollars in fiscal year 2018. The funding allowed the corps to resume work on design plans for the project. Councilman Charlie Odegaard says the visit went very well and he's optimistic for the path forward with the possibility of starting construction in 2020.
