Following notice of the casework success, Congressman O'Halleran released the following statement: This year, Marcus Christiansen of Casa Grande, Arizona contacted my office regarding his concerns about his due disability severance pay from the U.S. Army, starting all the way back in 2005 and running through May 2019. Mr. Christiansen was concerned because he had submitted all required documentation but never received any disbursements or word regarding this entitlement. My staff and I worked to ensure that the Army adjudicated and disbursed Mr. Christiansen's disability severance pay and officially concluded the matter late last month. Our veterans have faithfully served our country, and it is our responsibility to ensure they have the best care when they return home. I am pleased that my staff and I were able to secure the backpay Marcus was due. I have three physical offices in Arizona, and caseworkers on my staff that work remotely throughout the state. I encourage all veterans who may be struggling to work with the VA or other federal agencies to reach out to the district office nearest them for assistance. Official confirmation of Mr. Christiansen's backpay was received from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service on November 29, 2019.
