A final version of the agreement was reached today between the Speaker of the House, Senate leadership, and Ambassador Lighthizer, the United States Trade Representative. The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement is a win for Arizona workers, rural communities, agriculture producers, and small and large businesses throughout the state, said Rep. O'Halleran. This agreement will create good-paying jobs, support protections for our hardworking labor community, preserve important environmental standards, and bolster our economy. From the beginning of these negotiations, I have encouraged House leadership and negotiators to get a good deal for workers and businesses done as soon as possible. I've personally met with Ambassador Lighthizer on several occasions to negotiate provisions within this important agreement,"continued O'Halleran."Today, we have a good deal for Arizona. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to formally pass the USMCA implementing language by the end of the year. According to the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, between 1994 and 2017, Arizona's exports to Mexico grew from $2.4 billion per year, to $7.7. billiona 311% increase. Currently, over 200,000 jobs in Arizona alone depend on trade with Mexico and Canada. A study from the International Trade Commission found that the USMCA, if ratified, would add an estimated $68.2 billion to the economy and create 176,000 new jobs. The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement is supported by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, AFL-CIO, the Farm Bureau, the National Association of Manufacturers, the Greater Phoenix Leadership Council, the Arizona Chamber of Commerce, and many other trade, labor, and environmental protection organizations. ### | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
