https://palazzo.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=350255 Palazzo Supports House CR Plan to Defund ObamaCare 2013-09-18 2013 2013-09 Republican House MS Steven Palazzo P000601 palazzo.house.gov     legacy Washington, DC- Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-4), released the following statement in support of a plan released today by Republican leadership in the House of Representatives that would fully fund the government through December 15th while fully defunding ObamaCare. The measure would keep the full faith and credit of the United States, and would also provide continued funding for the Department of Defense and seniors who rely on Social Security. It would prevent any increase in spending over current budget levels. Once again, the American people are speaking out, and we're listening. As I and my colleagues have called for defunding this trainwreck of a law over the last few weeks, some have told us to give up the fight or said this is an impossible task. But as we've seen recently with Syria, the American people still have the power to enact change when they speak out loud and clear. I believe this is a fight worth fighting for the people of Mississippi, and I believe the American people are with us. I hope they will continue to speak out loud and clear so that the Senate and the Obama Administration have no choice but to listen. Palazzo is an original cosponsor of H.R. 2682, the Defund ObamaCare Act, which was introduced by Representative Tom Graves and Senator Ted Cruz in July and added to the House leadership plan this week after conservative members called for stronger defunding measures. The House is expected to vote on the plan as early as this Friday. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
