I am disappointed that we missed what may have been our last real opportunity to defund or delay Obamacare before its full implementation. I stood with the people of Mississippi and voted against the so-called Senate deal because it does nothing to fix Obamacare, does nothing to reduce spending, and does nothing to get our country back on the right fiscal track. The Senate deal only punts the tough decisions yet again, something I find unacceptable for the future of our nation. My colleagues and I will continue to fight to ensure a better country for our children and grandchildren. The Senate-led bill would raise the US government's debt limit until February 7th and fund the government through January 15th with the requirement of a bipartisan budget committee to issue longer term recommendations by mid-December and includes no language to defund or delay any provisions of the Affordable Care Act. ### f t # e 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
