This bill was yet another brief extension and lacked true spending offsets, relying on budget gimmicks to buy a few more months of time. Instead, we need a long-term, fiscally-responsible bill that funds our highway system and allows for the continuation of important infrastructure projects within our states and local communities. I cannot support legislation like this that not only fails to meet our conservative principles, but is a complete step backwards. Members of the committee claim they need more time to hammer out a deal. Well lets cancel the August recess, roll up our sleeves, and get to work. This is vital to our country and South Mississippi, and it needs to be taken seriously. f t # e 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
