The funding comes from provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act that Pallone included as Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee. The funding can be used for installation of energy efficient equipment, including electric appliances and heat pumps that will lower energy costs for American families. According to the Department of Energy, more information about how consumers can apply for rebates is expected to be available in the spring, and rebates will be available to the public later in the year. "This announcement is a win-win for consumers as we work to lower costs for families and transition to clean energy.
