Pallone is the Ranking Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over health care. The Supreme Court was right to prevent states from blocking Medicaid patients from having access to care provided by Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood offers essential services vital to women's health, and the organization delivers life-saving preventative care for millions of patients each year. Medicaid provides care for our nation's most vulnerable and without Planned Parenthood many Americans on Medicaid would have no place to turn to for health care. More than 100,000 New Jersey residents are served each year by Planned Parenthood's 22 health centers in our state, nine of which are located in Medically Underserved Areas.
