Thanks to their efforts, we’ve removed 1,000 pounds of tar balls from our beaches. I want to encourage the Coast Guard to continue to investigate the source of the oil contamination that caused the tar balls. In addition, I asked them to investigate any connection between the incidents in New Jersey and New York to determine if there is a possible link between the debris recovered in New York. I continue to stand ready to help deliver whatever resources are necessary to make sure our coast has what it needs to clean up the contamination.” 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-08T01:14:16Z
