The EOC upgrades include new equipment and computer systems to better track emergencies in real time and enhanced 9-1-1 communications tools to support the Borough’s first responders during emergencies and natural disasters. “These upgrades are essential to keeping South Plainfield safe,” said Pallone. “The funding I’ve delivered will update badly outdated communications equipment that’s been used for over 20 years and ensures the Borough’s first responders have the tools they need to handle crises effectively and protect the community. The COVID-19 pandemic underscored the importance of preparedness, and these improvements will help our police, fire, and EMS teams coordinate effectively.” “I would like to thank Congressman Pallone for his efforts in securing the necessary funding to update and modernize South Plainfield’s Emergency Operations Center,” said South Plainfield Mayor Matthew Anesh. “Also, I’d like to congratulate Chief Pappa and his entire team for their hard work preparing our funding request and the successful implementation of the new Emergency Operations Center that will serve and protect current and future residents of the Borough.” 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:57:20Z
